Audition Information
On June 5th and 6th we will be holding auditions for Jazz Band and Marching Band. If you are interested in participating in Jazz Band or holding a leadership position in Marching Band, please email me to set up a time. My email address is derek.s.b.bernier@gmail.com. I'll be available at the Sawtooth Middle School Band Room on Thursday and Friday from 10ish to 5ish. PLEASE NOTIFY ME BY EMAIL WHAT TIME YOU WISH TO AUDITION!!!
Auditions will consist of scales (I name them, you play them), an excerpt selected by you (if you're auditioning for Jazz Band, please play a jazz-oriented excerpt) that features your strong points on your instrument (please no more than 2 minutes long), and be prepared to sight-read.
If you are auditioning for student leadership position(s) for Marching Band, please plan on meeting with me to discuss your responses to the Leadership Application Form (also found on this page). Also, please email me your responses to the questions in the Student Leadership Application prior to June 1, so I may review them before we meet. Auditions should take no longer than 20 minutes/student. Thanks for all your hard work, and we'll see you in June!
Band Booster Information
We will be holding a Band Booster/Parent Meeting on Thursday, June 5th at 7:00pm in the Sawtooth Middle School Band Room. All parents are invited to attend (students, too, if they're interested). We will discuss our plans for the program, the year, and the future of the RMHS Band Program. We will be electing officers and (hopefully) assigning parents to various committees, so please attend!
